Thanks for joining me!
I’m Akila — an educator, artist, yogi, and edible gardener growing food and inspiration in the Bay Area. My journey began with a simple curiosity about what truly nourishes us — and blossomed into a deep love for creating spaces where food, beauty, and balance coexist.
Even while working in the tech world, I found peace in the garden. Over time, that passion grew into a creative practice — designing edible landscapes that are as beautiful as they are bountiful. I transformed our own front yard from a traditional lawn into a vibrant foodscape — weaving textures, colors, and forms to make every bed a living artwork.
Here, I share my journey — the experiments, the learning, and the joy — to show that you don’t need a farm or endless time to grow something extraordinary. With a bit of planning, a few containers, and a dash of imagination, anyone can create an edible garden that delights the senses and feeds the soul.
When I’m not tending my raised beds, you’ll find me teaching pranayama, painting nature-inspired watercolors, or welcoming guests to our serene retreat — all part of a life rooted in creativity, connection, and care for the earth.
So come along — be inspired, dig in, and grow something beautiful.
For the love of nature,
? Akila
